Who teaches you
Minati Ma’am.
She spent twenty years being paid to say things clearly, out loud, to a country — and twenty years teaching other people to do it.
For more than twenty years, Minati Ma’am read the news on Doordarshan and All India Radio. If either was on in your house, you have heard her.
Reading it was the easier half. The other half was translating: finding the version of a sentence that lands the first time, with no chance to explain. Twenty years of that on air, and you stop having opinions about what makes English clear. You know.
That is the subject she teaches, and here it is not a theory.
None of which is what her students bring up. What they say is that she notices them — that she knows who has not spoken yet.
What translating actually is
The committee has resolved to defer consideration of the matter.
The committee will look at it later.
Live, once, with nobody to ask. Twenty years of it.

Two ways to learn from her
A class, or a course you work through yourself.
The classes are in person and you join them with a phone call. The courses are online, written and edited by her, and two lessons of each are free.
